We're proud to present to you La Coalición, a partnership between two of the guys that kicked off the boutique cigar movement: Jon Huber of Crowned Heads and Willy Herrera of Drew Estate (formerly El Titan de Bronze). Though Crowned Heads is now a household brand name and Drew Estate is one of the largest cigar companies in the world, these guys are still cutting no corners and putting out some of the highest regarded cigars on the market. This one is no exception. La Coalición is made for Crowned Heads at the famed Drew Estate factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. With a price point between $13-16, this is also one of Crowned Heads most expensive cigars. About La Coalición, Huber said, "Willy Herrera and I share a similar vision towards the tradition and artistry of cigars, blends presentation, and so forth. What you’re going to see with La Coalición is truly a collaborative effort on every level between Crowned Heads and Drew Estate, and between Willy Herrera and Jon Huber.” If you're familiar with their blending style, this cigar is what you would expect: Layers and layers of dense, chewy smoke that makes this a true 'after dinner' cigar. Though the thick broadleaf wrapper does require the occasional touch-up with a lighter, the ever-changing flavors of leather, earth, cocoa, coffee, pepper and a nice balance of sweetness throughout makes that easy to look past. This cigar may not fit everyone's favorite profile (see reviews below), but as for us... we're here for it.
