Cigar Reveal #168

Valacari
Lumineer

We are very excited for our first time partnering with Nimmer Ahmad of Valacari cigars and blind tasting the Lumineer, a cigar that will not even debut until January (hence the no band)! While we are the first to enjoy this wonderful smoke, it won't be the last cigar we blind taste from Valacari. Founded in only 2016, the company has already made a name for themselves for being extremely experimental in their blending process and for producing many cigars in small batches.

"Our goal was to push cigar crafting into new boundaries to create unique cigars to the market," said Ahmad. "We started our journey by spending years in development of every aspect of our cigars. We wanted to take a more scientific and experimental approach to crafting cigars while maintaining some of the old traditions."

Reviews + Notes

The Styled Stogie

Very rich scent on the body. Really deep. Earthy. Dark chocolate. Barnyard. Pepper on the nose. The foot has an interesting combination of dried apricot and white pepper.  The cold draw is mainly dried apricot. Really nice. Right after lighting I get really nice sweet cream and dried fruit with a slight bit of white pepper. Underneath all of that, there is a very pleasant note of oak on the finish. Further in I got a hint of strawberry jam. What a nice surprise, however brief. As I get into the second and third, there is another hint of peach with a little bit of milk chocolate, which is a very nice combination. I’m also getting a little bit more oak, but that would has now turned into more of a cedar. There isn’t too much change at the moment except for the chocolate becoming more of a chocolate pudding. Right as I’m getting to the final third, medium roast coffee starts to come through with honeysuckle. A very pleasant change with more oak on the finish. While there isn’t too much flavor change towards the end, the coffee becomes more prominent and has some brown sugar added into the mix, too. Really enjoyable cigar with pleasant changes and good combinations.
