Cigar Reveal #201

L'Atelier
Surrogates Satin Glove

The Surrogates Satin Glove, part of the L'Atelier lineup, offers a unique experience with a Mexican San Andres wrapper. With a dark and slightly rough texture, it exudes earthy aromas. The initial draw presents bitter earth, pepper, and cocoa powder. As it progresses, flavors balance out with cedar, herbal, and semi-sweet chocolate notes. Red pepper flakes accentuate the retrohale. The second third emphasizes herbal elements and sweet chocolate while reducing the pepper. Towards the end, bitter cocoa and earthiness return, though with less sweetness. Despite some bitterness, the cigar maintains good construction and burn. While not a top pick, it's worth trying for San Andres fans who appreciate earthy and bitter profiles.

Cigar Dojo

The hefty Churchill size with a nice box press makes for a great hand-feel and there are plenty of fun flavors throughout. It may not be the most complex stick, but I'd certainly recommend a 10-pack purchase, or a box if the flavors really hit you right.

Kohnhed

The L’Atelier Surrogates Satin Glove is the epitome of a flavorful, very smooth cigar. The smoothness conceals a lot of the strength. The flavor profile is very complex and chewy. The finish is so long, it needs a leash.

Leaf Enthusiast

This wasn’t my favorite San Andres wrapped cigar, but it wasn’t my least favorite, either. Fans of the earthiness and bitter aspects that this wrapper brings into play will probably like this a lot. I enjoyed it for most of the journey, appreciating the full body and medium strength, as well as the complexity brought on in the first couple thirds. It’s not a cigar I would buy often, but I would smoke it again.
