Cigar Reveal #202

Kristoff
Vengeance

The Kristoff Vengeance, a resurrection of the original Vengeance line, now bears the Kristoff name and a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper—a first for Kristoff Cigars. In terms of flavor, the Kristoff Vengeance Toro delivers a smooth black coffee profile, accompanied by cedar and black pepper notes. During the initial stages, the coffee evolves into a sweet mocha quality, blending coffee and chocolate flavors. Hints of cedar and pepper appear on the retrohale. As the cigar progresses, the mocha sweetness transitions into a raw honey-like note, with the coffee growing richer. The pepper intensifies slightly, while cedar remains in the background. The coffee maintains its prominence but loses some of its initial smoothness. In the final third, pepper becomes a strong secondary note, with coffee still at the forefront. The cigar concludes with lingering raw honey and cedar notes.

Overall, this Connecticut Broadleaf offering from Kristoff stands out with its unique flavor profile, making it a great choice for experienced cigar enthusiasts seeking something medium-plus. Even novices looking to explore richer flavors would find this cigar a worthwhile option. It's a cigar worth revisiting and may even warrant consideration for box purchase.

Cigar Coop

If like me you have been waiting for Glen Case to come out with a Connecticut Broadleaf cigar, you won’t be disappointed. As mentioned this iteration of the Kristoff Vengeance is a different one than the original version. That isn’t a negative but rather meant to show how this cigar stands on its own. This isn’t going to be your typical cookie-cutter Connecticut Broadleaf cigar. Most importantly, this is a cigar that excels in the most important category – flavor. It’s a cigar I would recommend to an experienced cigar enthusiast, but if a novice wants to move to something medium plus, this is a very good cigar to do so. As for myself, it’s a cigar that I’d smoke again, and it’s one that garners box worthy consideration.

Leaf Enthusiast

Kristoff is generally known for their mild and medium-bodied cigars, while their attempts at more full-bodied blends have been fairly underwhelming, with the exception of the Pistoff. Vengeance is a new direction for the company and one I feel they have succeeded in. The blend is complex and compelling from beginning to end, with everything you want from a Broadleaf wrapper…just not all at once. I have been really enjoying the time I’ve spent smoking these and will continue to do so.

Overall, the Kristoff Vengeance was a fine smoking experience with a extremely balanced and complex array of flavor notes. The transitions kept the palate intrigued down through the final third. There was some bitterness in the second third which eventually dissipated. The wrapper oils developed well through the experience. The burn did have a slight wave early on, that eventually corrected without a touch up, and the burn cone was flat once the ash fell. This is worth picking up a fiver for sure. I rate this a 92.
