Cigar Reveal #271

Serino
Taino Corona Gorda

“The Taíno is a joint effort between father, Anthony Serino, and son, Carson Serino. The name pays tribute to the indigenous people of the Caribbean, known as the Taíno, who are believed to be the original creators of the modern day cigar. This blend was created with the classics in mind, easy-going with a ton of character. A cigar approachable for enthusiasts of all levels, yet nuanced enough for the connoisseur. This medium-bodied smoke highlights all the best qualities of the Caribbean.”

Reviews + Notes

Halfwheel

The cigar didn't have the kind of profile that ends up being a master of navigating our scoresheet—and the overall score reflects some of those deficiencies, particularly burn issues in the second third—but I would gladly smoke more Taínos on a regular basis. I can’t stress how nice it is to have a cigar that allows me to retrohale puff after puff with zero thought without being the typically mild profile required to do such a thing. It’s definitely the best cigar I’ve smoked from Serino to date and there is a decent chance that this is my favorite cigar from the La Corona Factory.

Cigar Aficionado

Rolled with a closed foot and topped with a three-seam cap, this robusto offers a simple palate of cedar and minerals with faint wisps of chocolate. The finish is tangy.
