It’s been a while since we featured a Factory Reveal, but after smoking this one from our friend Hostos Fernandez, owner of La Isla in the Dominican Republic, we decided it was time. We like occasionally featuring cigars directly from the factory because each factory tends to have their own flavor profiles and strengths in their cigar-making. If you don’t know La Isla, you probably know some of the great cigars that come from there. Hostos is responsible for producing cigars from Warped, La Sirena, Black Star Line, Matilde, Ceniza, even a cigar made for Buffalo Trace’s E.H. Taylor bourbon, and many more. Hostos tends to make medium bodied, flavorful cigars with perfect construction. Another of his strengths is that he happens to be a cool guy, and is really easy to work with (far from a guarantee in this business). It’s an honor to showcase a cigar from one of the up and coming factories in our industry!
