Cigar Reveal #301
Rodriguez Cigar
Reserva Privada
The Rodriguez Reserva Privada draws from a storied family legacy that began with the Rodriguez family cultivating tobacco in 1947 on their private plantation, La Finca de Carmencita, in Siguaney, Las Villas, Cuba. Following nationalization, the family relocated to Key West in 1971 and established the Rodriguez Cigar Factory, officially launching in 1984—making it the oldest cigar manufacturer in the Florida Keys. The Reserva Privada holds a place of prestige within the brand’s collection, alongside other notable series like the Series 84, Series 84 Maduro, and Vintage 1925 Series.
The cigar’s distinctive identity stems from its luxurious, 4-year-aged Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, paired with Nicaraguan binder and filler for a balanced, refined profile. Offered in classic sizes such as Robusto, Torpedo, Corona, and Toro, the Reserva Privada is meticulously hand-rolled in small batches, reflecting the family’s adherence to traditional Cuban methods. Crafted under the guidance of Angel Rodriguez, with premium long-filler tobaccos and extended aging, it stands as a celebration of heritage, patience, and passionate craftsmanship.
