Cigar Reveal #315

Camacho
Ecuador

The Camacho Ecuador is a relatively modern addition to Camacho’s core line, introduced under the Davidoff umbrella when Camacho was acquired. The idea behind the Ecuador variant is to bring a more complex, bold expression using an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that offers both strength and nuance. Camacho describes this particular Ecuador wrapper as “storied” — grown in nitrogen-rich soils beneath the Andes — intended to be versatile and flavor-forward. In blending the Ecuador, Camacho paired that wrapper with choice binder and filler tobaccos to push the boundaries of what their “core” line could deliver, shifting toward fuller profiles while retaining balance and character.

Cigar Coop

Overal this was an excellent release by Camacho Cigars.  As I mentioned at the start, I would put this cigar at the top of the releases under the core line by Camacho.  This cigar delivered excellent flavor and had excellent construction.  The strength and flavor balanced each other very well and gives you the best of both of these attributes.  It’s possible this cigar will be dialed back over time, so its certainly worth keeping a watch out.  Given this is a full strength, full-bodied cigar,  I would probably recommend this to a more experienced cigar enthusiast who likes a cigar with that profile. As for myself, this is easily a cigar I’d smoke again – and it’s box worthy in my book.

The sweetness of the leaves is very prominent now. I must admit that it deserves to be in the flavor bomb status now. Still not complex but the flavors are resilient and bold. The stick finishes out just short of medium/full. It isn’t hot or harsh. Just imagine what Davidoff could do with the Camacho line if they really wanted to impress.

The Cigar Authority

The Camacho Ecuador might just be my favorite release from the company to date especially considering it uses two of my favorite tobaccos in Brazilian Mata Fina and Pelo de Oro. A subtle mix of spices and sweetness that are enjoyable at any time of day, this is a cigar that is definitely box worthy and a welcome addition to the great Camacho portfolio.
