Cigar Reveal #329

AJ Fernandez
Enclave Broadleaf

The Enclave Maduro, officially known as Enclave Broadleaf, is a darker extension of the original Enclave line created by AJ Fernandez and his father, Ismael Fernandez. The original Enclave debuted in 2015 and was inspired by the concept of a close-knit “enclave” of cigar enthusiasts and by the early cultures that cultivated tobacco in the Americas. The cigar’s Native American–inspired artwork reflects that connection to tobacco’s early heritage.

Released a few years later, the Maduro version introduced a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, marking one of the first times AJ Fernandez used this prized leaf in the Enclave line. The goal was to build on the original blend’s spice and complexity while adding the deeper sweetness and richness associated with Broadleaf tobacco. Like most of AJ’s portfolio, the cigar is produced at Tabacalera AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua, and emphasizes aged Nicaraguan tobaccos from regions such as Estelí and Jalapa.

Leaf Enthusiast

I said it before and I’ll say it now: I like the Enclave Broadleaf better than the original Habano version. After this second smoking, I can say that I like it a lot more. This is an excellent Connecticut Broadleaf wrapped cigar that stands out from the others on the market with its citrusy notes and slow building of body. Definitely a must-smoke for Broadleaf fans like me.
