The San Lotano The Bull is part of AJ Fernandez’s San Lotano line, a deeply personal brand name that traces back to his family’s cigar legacy in Cuba and later became the name of one of his farms in Nicaragua. The San Lotano line itself marked AJ’s transition from primarily producing cigars for other brands to establishing his own identity in the market.
“The Bull” was introduced around 2013–2014 as a bold extension of the San Lotano portfolio, designed to deliver a stronger, more assertive smoking experience while still maintaining balance. It was initially released through a limited distribution channel before expanding more broadly.
The name reflects the cigar’s intent: powerful, forward, and aggressive, but not uncontrolled. AJ aimed to create a cigar that “charges” with flavor but remains refined—something full-bodied smokers could enjoy without sacrificing smoothness. Built around aged Nicaraguan tobaccos and an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, the cigar represents a blend of strength and structure, consistent with AJ’s broader philosophy of pairing intensity with craftsmanship.
