Cigar Reveal #242

Serino Cigar Co.
Royale Connecticut

The Serino Royale Connecticut stands as one of Serino's original blends. Guided by Tony Serino and his son, Carson, the company initially dealt in bundle cigars before venturing into the realm of super premium cigars with the Serino Royale line about eight years ago. For all their cigars, they work with Omar Gonzalez Aleman of La Corona Cigars S.A., who formerly helmed the La Corona Factory in Havana, renowned for crafting esteemed Cuban brands like Romeo y Julieta, Hoyo de Monterrey, Cuaba, Por Larranaga, Saint Luis Rey, San Cristobal de Habana, and select Montecristos.

Cigar Aficionado

Light and woody overall, this cigar shows some slight spice with hints of toast and oak before the herbal finish. It draws and burns evenly.

Cigar Coop

Many times a Connecticut Shade cigar will try to refine itself by pushing the boundaries of strength or body. With the Serino Royale Connecticut Torpedo, this is a cigar that changes this up on the floor profile. I found the combination of the cedar and citrus notes to be the “X” factor with this cigar. It was just enough to make the Serino Royal Connecticut Torpedo a different type of Connecticut Shade cigar. Finally, I also found the torpedo format worked very nicely for this particular blend. This is a cigar I could recommend to a novice or experienced cigar enthusiast. As for myself, this is a cigar that I would smoke again – and it’s worthy of a box split.

The Cigar Authority

The Finish: Anthony Serino who heads up Serino Cigars isn’t a household name but he has been in the cigar industry for 20 years. We thought highly of other Serino lines, but this one might top them all. It’s a great mild smoke with a lot of complexity and subtle nuances that will be great for a new smoker or a season cigar veteran who wants to slow down. It’s one of my favorite Connecticut cigars now, and worthy of a buy.
