Description Look, we're not going to go on and on about this being named the #1 Cigar of 2019 by Cigar Aficionado. You don't want us to, we don't want to, and most importantly, we will decide for ourselves what the best cigars in the world are thank you. Plus, we've included their review below along with a little trophy. (ahem) Having said that... this is a pretty damn magnificent cigar. And if some magazine wants to say it's the best cigar of the year, well, I'm not going to fight 'em on it. We'll give them one every now and then. Alright, moving on. The owner of Aging Room is Rafael Nodal, a former musician who immigrated from Cuba to New York in 1980. He eventually moved to Miami, and nearly 20 years later entered the cigar industry. Different Aging Room cigars are made in different countries by different cigar makers, but this particular smoke is made by the world-famous Nicaraguan cigar maker AJ Fernandez (of New World, San Lotano, Bellas Artes) and it's made in his signature style. This cigar (by the way, at 7" you're going to need some extra time for this one) is packed full of flavor from the first puff. Chocolate, coffee, and caramel come and go throughout with the occasional cedar notes and black pepper keeping us on our toes. It's full-bodied, balanced, and perfectly constructed. With all of that going on, even after 2 1/2 hours of smoking I was still sad to see it go and tempted to light up another one...
Review: Cigar Aficionado Named 2019 Cigar of the Year 🏆 (Maestro size)  - Every last leaf in this blend is Nicaraguan and every puff is an overture of flavors that’s at times heavy and rich with notes of dark chocolate and wood, and other times, subtle and understated with hints of fine caramel and toasted almonds. In musical terms, the word for this box-pressed torpedo would be dynamic. Nodal is still an artist at heart and cigars continue to be his creative outlet. If the birth of Aging Room was his breakthrough, consider the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro his masterpiece.
Review: Stogie Guys The rich brown, velvety wrapper has a few visible veins. No details on the components of the Nicaraguan tobaccos used in the blend have been released, but the thickness and color indicate a sun-grown wrapper. Earth, coffee, and chocolate are the dominant flavors in this full-bodied smoke. Pepper and cedar add to the well-balanced profile, with sweet cedar notes especially prominent towards the final third. It’s a harmonious cigar with a great swirling combination of sweetness, spice, and wood notes. On the combustion front, it’s mostly good news. The ash is sturdy, though the burn occasionally needs a touch-up to keep even. There are no issues with the draw or smoke production. I started by mentioning the high ratings Aging Room has earned here, and this is no exception. A full-bodied, but not overly strong cigar, the Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Espressivo earns an impressive rating of four and a half stogies out of five.
