Brand Alec Bradley
Cigar Tempus Maduro
Wrapper Mexican San Andres
Binder Honduras/Indonesia
Filler Honduras/Nicaragua
Description Though the Tempus received a 94 rating and became the first cigar from Alec Bradley to receive 'Top 25 Cigars of the Year' honors, the Tempus Maduro is every bit as interesting with a uniquely made, extremely dark Mexican wrapper. The wrapper fermentation process includes the use of a bethune made from tree pulp that’s applied to the leaf during the fermentation process, resulting in a leaf that achieves a dark maduro color. The shorter fermentation time allows the wrapper leaf to maintain some of the strength that would normally be lost in the time required to ferment a maduro leaf.
Review: Cigar Aficionado
A dark cigar with some pronounced veins and a roughly applied cap. It's notes of licorice and nuts take on a firey, chili pepper spiciness. The finish is a touch chalky
Review: The Stogie Guys
The Imperator, a torpedo (6.1 x 52), is well-constructed with no soft spots and a good draw. The cigar starts out with in an intriguing sweetness and subtle spice. The core flavors of smoked oak, mocha, and subtle cracked black pepper create an interesting and pleasant smoking experience.

Review: Cigar Aficionado
Though packed solid with tobacco, the draw is open and lush, imparting an oaky, leathery smoke with notes of malted chocolate and toast
Review: Halfwheel
The first third has quite a bit of spice from the start that combined with some other flavors of coffee, leather and some floral notes to make a great opening. The second third changed almost totally from the first. The spice calmed down quite a bit, but was still present, and the flavors changed almost 180 degrees to more of a leather and toasted nuts combination with some coffee thrown in for good measure.
