First introduced under the Nat Sherman brand during the cigar boom of the early 1990s, the Metropolitan Maduro takes its name from its standout Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper. This rich wrapper encases a Dominican binder and filler blend, and the cigar continues to be produced at the Quesada Cigars factory to this day. In 2021, following Nat Sherman’s unfortunate closure, boutique company Ferio Tego, led by longtime cigar businessman Michael Herklots, took over the legacy. Herklots preserved the original blends under the Ferio Tego banner, among them the cherished Metropolitan Maduro.
